Welcome to The Northumberland Arms, a beautiful Bar and Restaurant with Rooms by the River Coquet in the heart of Northumberland. Situated approximately one mile from the A1, perfectly positioned for direct access North & South, lies the idyllic village of Felton.
The Northumberland Arms was built in the 1820’s by Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland as a coaching inn where his coach horses, family and visitors could be refreshed before reaching Alnwick castle.
Owner Kris Blackburn, has built on the success of her Artisan bakery and Café in the village, The Running Fox and rolled out her expertise and decorative flair, showcasing her work within The Northumberland Arms.
The building has been lovingly restored (and not without its major ‘Grand Designs’ pitfalls) and presents the ultimate in chic, eclectic styling, whilst remaining warm comfortable and welcoming.
Wholesome, locally sourced food is cooked to perfection by Head Chef Alan Baldwin and his team including Ryan Holden and Michael Appleby and is served daily in the new River Room, plus bar and lounge area from 12 noon until 5pm. Dogs are welcome in the bar area.
The 40 seat restaurant serves food from 5pm until 9pm. Sunday Lunch is available throughout from noon until 9pm. Reservations always recommended!
General Manager is Sue Baldwin who also is responsible for co-ordination of room bookings.
