About the hotel
The Anvil offers cosy accommodation in the recently restored stable and forge in the former village blacksmiths in one of the most popular East Yorkshire Wolds villages. Guests will experience a courteous and friendly service with exclusive use of the attached private lounge with log burning stove and kitchenette. North Newbald nestles on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and is popular with both walkers and cyclists.
This lovely village is home to one of the oldest and most historic churches in the area and is clustered around a quaint village green which it shares with two traditional pubs serving good ales and food. The Anvil is a great place to stay for just one night or a whole week. The Wolds are one of the great undiscovered quiet corners of England and North Newbald is an ideal base to explore them on foot or cycle. By car or bus you are within easy reach of the historic city of York (30 minutes) the port of Hull (20 minutes) or the Yorkshire Moors and Coast (1 hour). With many other attractions in the area its certainly worth stopping here a while.

Great little find
Jayne and Paul made is most welcome.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Having a comfortable lounge and our own kitchen made the stay very flexible and was an added bonus. The Tiger one of two pubs in the village serves excellent food, good beer and has friendly staff. We didnt have time to try The Gnu but will do so o our next visit.
what a wonderfull place to stay had a fantastic relaxing weekend in front of a log fire really could not have asked for any more, home made cake was left out for us and a very warm welcome from the host will be making a return visit
