night in York
Arrived at the Waggon and Horses we found the pub only opened at three pm and as no one was answering the doorbell we left our car on the small car park and went next door to the Rose and Crown for something to eat and kill some time to check in.
The food in the Rose was excellent which was just as well for we found the Waggon does not do food on a Monday for some reason. When we checked in we found our room to be a little basic but very clean with a comfortable bed and a bathroom well stocked with soaps ect. The staff we found pleasant and the breakfast good and overall I would say value for money and handy for the town centre but don't expect posh. If I were to be honest if I was staying more than one or two nights I would pay a few bob more and try elsewhere.
