About the hotel
Nafferton Farm is a working farm with sheep, cattle and horses. We are situated in a rural location on the outskirts of Durham City. The farmhouse itself dates back to 1750 and has been carefully restored to retain it's original features and character, which provides a welcoming setting for all of our visitors.
Guests can enjoy panoramic views whilst relaxing in the secluded garden with it's large pond and water features. We are just a stone throw away from historic and picturesque Brancepeth Village with it's ancient Castle, Church, Golf Course and Fishing Lakes. Right on our doorstep we have Durham City with it's ancient Cathedral and Castle and only a short distance from the world famous Beamish Museum, Raby Castle, the Durham Dales and Northumbrian coastline, all for you to explore. For those shopaholics amongst you we have some of the finest shopping available with Gateshead MetroCentre (the largest indoor shopping complex in Europe) a short drive away. The Cities of Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland (all close by) also have a huge range of ultra-modern indoor and outdoor shopping facilities.

Amazing but muddy.
Stayed here for Valentine's weekend Saturday and Sunday.
The long driveway up to the farm was bumpy and muddy but kind of what we expected being a farm an all. Sandra is a lovely host, really friendly and helpful, she upgraded us to the larger room as we were the only ones there that weekend. And what a huge room and bathroom. Really comfy and warm, red hot water, great signal for tv, a fabulous breakfast - the best fried bread in the world. A great range of breakfast items and well cooked. Not far from Beamish museum and Metrocentre. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
Outstanding accommodation, welcome and situation
The farmhouse is very close to Durham and main roads, yet feels deep in the countryside at the end of a long lane.
Our en-suite room was large, immaculate and fully equipped, Mrs Fell the warmest and most flexible of owners and the breakfasts fresh, varied and delicious. A memorable stay
