The room we had was a superior room but it was tired looking, the room could have done with a good clean, cobwebs on the curtains and at least 1/4 inch thick of dust by the old radiator was very off putting.
Also curtains hanging on the four poster were not fitted properly. Very disappointing. The food and service as well as the staff were the only good points. I would return but would kick up a stink if the cleanliness of the bedroom was still bad. No hot water in the bathroom, tepid at the most.
The hotel was in itself lovely, our room was clean warm and comfortable.
However as a group of four couples, the men folk being work colleagues, who were celebrating Christmas, when the entertainment ended around midnight, the hotel closed down for the night. No residents bar was available and we were ushered to bed as "the alarms were being set", being in our forties, it was rather embarrassing to be sent to bed.
