About the hotel
Set high in the North Pennines 1 mile out of Alston Harbut law is a large Victorian family home, with spacious and comfortable rooms enjoying picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. Ideal location for walkers and cyclists as we are on the Pennine Way and the C2C cycle route. With The Lake District, Hadrians Wall, Co Durham and the Scottish borders all within an hours drive we are an ideal base for discovering the North of England.
The town of Alston is an old lead mining town in Cumbria, there is no lead mining here now but our history can be seen all around, so much so that we are used for the setting of period dramas such as Catherine Cookson films and the latest production of Oliver Twist for the BBC.

100% would recommend it to a friend
Fabulous house, dating back to the 19th Century.
We felt very welcome, and any needs we had were catered for. Susan even drove us to the local restaurant and collected us, as my travelling companion has bad knees and could not manage the 1 mile walk. Highly recommended, and we will be staying there, again.
A great guest house in an ideal location for exploring the North Pennines area.
Very helpful owners who let two friends camping nearly come for breakfast. Lovely, comfortable room. Reasonably value too.
