Ten out of Ten!
We were looking for an overnight stay whilst visiting the Steam Rally at Masham.
Following an internet search and a quick look at various reviews we plumped for The Old Coach House, North Stainley - what a find. Very easy to find, straight across the road from The Staveley Arms (more on them later!) and set back off the road sufficiently to diminish any road noise (we like our locations quiet). The accommodation is finished to a very high standard and our room was very comfortably appointed. The bed was very comfortable - nicely firm but not too hard - and chocolates awaited us on the duvet. Breakfast takes place in a separate building within the small complex, again very nicely finished with doors and windows opening onto the lovely courtyard, as do the stable cottages. Breakfast was excellent, with quality local produce, but it's worth bearing in mind that if you like fish, such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, then you need to order the previous evening. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we will certainly return again at some point soon. Oh, and we stayed over on a Sunday evening, so we went over to The Staveley Arms across the road for their Sunday carvery (served all day) which was very good and again their staff were also very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Excellent - highly recommended
