Excellent bed and breakfast
One of the best b and b's I have stayed in.
The hosts were charming and welcoming. The room was spotless and the breakfast was a joy. Plenty of parking. Only there for one night as on business but would liked to have stayed longer. Very close to A6 and M6 but no road noise.
Looking for something different than a standard hotel?
Whenever we can we avoid booking into a standard hotel (seen 'em, done 'em, got the Tee Shirt) so we look for something different.
Middle Holly Cottage was just what we were looking for. Its really handy for visiting our Grandson at Lancaster Uni being just 2 miles off the M6 and 4 from the Uni. There are choices where to eat for your evening meal (Italian restaurant or a great pub, both walk-able from the Cottage). Meanwhile back at the Cottage, on arrival Andrew came out to the car to welcome us and help carry our bags. It was clear and obvious that the grounds of the cottage are kept to immaculate standards (They have just opened a Tea Room and is ideal for a home made scone and tea/coffee in a superb garden). Awaiting for us in our beautifully appointed room were home made chocolates and biscuits. The room and en-suite were extremely well decorated. Breakfast was an excellent Lancashire Full Breakfast sourced with all local products. All in all the overnight stay was a great experience and one I would recommend to anyone. We will use this great Cottage again when visiting Jnr in the future - the whole experience laid on by Middle Holly Cottage made the 500 mile round trip very worth while - oh, and it was good to see Jnr also!
