Carla and Amanda's overnight stay at Middle Holly Cottage,
Carla and I were overwhelmed with the beauty if the cottage and surroundings nothing was too much trouble.
The owners had literally thought of everything we could possibly need in our room and it was all there waiting for us and more. I loved the basket of treats left on the landing table. Leaving it up to customers to be honest enough to leave the money or let them know on departure that's a lovely thing to do. Everything you could think of was lovingly home made and wrapped individually the house itself was presented beautifully. We couldn't stop looking around there was always something interesting or quaint to see. And the gardens were kept immaculate. Not a blade of grass out of place. We really didn't want to leave. We would highly recomend this beautiful cottage. To anyone just wanting to go away for peace and beauty. Considering it's right next to a main road. We never heard any traffic at all. A lovely peaceful night away without our children was just lovely. But equally we felt if we were to take our children they would be welcomed and they would certainly love it lots of outside space to run around and let off steam before coming in to eat lots of home made goodies. Can't rave about this place enough. Thank you got a lovely stay.
One of the Best.
Greeted with homemade chocolates and delicious cakes made by the hosts.
Fresh milk in a tiny fridge in the room - this does 'hum' a little but you get used to it - was refreshing after the horrid UHT often supplied. A very good assortment of drinks on offer in the hospitality tray as well as homemade cookies. Wonderfully thick towels and even bath robes on hand add a real touch of luxury. The breakfast is, frankly, amazingly good. Having stayed in numerous B & B's over the years the cooked breakfast is head and shoulders over the best of the rest. Fresh eggs from the bottom of the garden, thick quality sausage and bacon from a local butcher and mushroom and tomatoes cooked to perfection. Along with baked beans and black pudding if you want them. Follow with toast made from home baked bread and fresh jams and marmalades. Delicious. A very quiet location, in spite of only being a short distance from the busy A6. No road noise was discernible. Recommended without any hesitation. We will be going back for another spoiling.
