Amsterdam for two days
Slightly dated concrete block a 25 minute tram ride from the centre, surrounded by a water feature that smelt bad even though the weather was quite cool.
Receptionist considered himself a cut above, nose in the air but perhaps that was from the water feature. Oh and he had the task of convincing residents that an additional 30€ a day or 25€ for a half a day parking is cheap for Amsterdam, it probably is, but perhaps it should be communicated without the sneer, The first floor restaurant was pleasant and there was a very good selection of excellent food for breakfast. There appeared to be no facility for a light bite evening menu. The room was spacious and fairly clean, except for filthy windows and an un-dusted window cill. Stopping for two nights it would have been nice if the bed had been properly made, not just the quilt straightened. After two nights here and another on route, Holiday Inn do consider they're a cut above, sorry guys, I've enjoyed much better.
