About the hotel

Ardagh House is a gracious & spacious detached Victorian residence of character and charm. We are situated about 1. 5 miles South of St.

Stephens Green in this premier residential area. All our rooms are en-suite and our property is fully non-smoking. We have excellent off street parking and the bus stop is just outside our gate. Ardagh House is a deluxe three star guest house and is convenient to the city centre. Centrally located between Rathgar, Darty, Rathmines and Ranelagh, our family-run guest house offers bed and breakfast accommodation and will offer you a peaceful environment as a base for your visit, while the sights and sounds of Dublin are within easy reach. Built in 1898, most of the original features of the house have been retained during its recent refurbishment. The lounge, dining room and many of the guest bedrooms are located in the original house, and enjoy the beautiful proportions of buildings of that era. Later extensions were added with the original style in mind, and the property offers wonderful views of the gardens and surrounding areas.

Over and above what you would expect from the owner.

Minor issue.

TV the size of a portable high up on the far wall. The remote control batteries were flat. HOWEVER, with a flat tyre on the rental car that refused to come off and a plane to catch the owner brought his own tools out and rolled his sleeves up to help. Long story, but without his help I would have had to pay the recovery firm 250 Euros. You won't get that from the big hotel chains.

Anglo Australian visit 13-14th June 2014

Took our friends from Australia on a first visit ti Ireland.

Difficult finding a B&B over the weekend that met our criteria I.e. Value for Money. Mary &Willie the owners were extremely helpful, showing us where the 140 bus to town stopped.Good travelling to town on the bus, a mini tour itself. The house was clean, tidy and well staffed.Breakfast was excellent and a good evening meal is only a short walk away at local pubs etc. Will stay there again no doubt on our next visit.
