About the hotel
Brownber Hall is a magnificent house built around 1860. Set amid beautiful rolling countryside near the village of Newbiggin-on-Lune in Cumbria, it is well away from the nearest main road. Guests are assured of a warm welcome and a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Brownber Hall stands in extensive mature gardens and enjoys panoramic views across open farmland to the Howgill fells and North Pennines. Guests can enjoy these views while relaxing on the terrace which extends across the front of the property. The surrounding country combines exceptional scenery with excellent walking without the hoards of people that characterise the Lakes and is home to a great abundance of wildlife. There are many places to visit locally or within easy driving distance. Brownber Hall Country House is the ideal choice to relax and unwind. All of our rooms are clean and comfortable, with 300 thread count linen, powerful hot showers, hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities, and free fast wifi. We have an honesty bar in the lounge, so that guests can enjoy a drink by the fire or out on the terrace (both weather depending!)

Good overall experience.
3 day break
Wonderful location, superb B & B in every way.
Able to sit at breakfast and watch the red squirrels :). Views from house were breath taking. Able to walk from accommodation directly onto disused railway, and walk up to where the oath crosses the Settle to Carlusle line, about 2 miles, then walk back through stunning scenery, through Ravenstonedale, in total about 8 miles.
Although they do not provide dinner there is adequate choice in the area, in Ravenstonedale The Black Swan and The Kings Head are worth a visit.
