Reviews - Hotel Relais il Cestello

Piazza Di Cestello, 9 , Firenze, 50124
Hotel Relais Il Cestello is located in Piazza del Cestello, next to the Cestello Church, and enjoys unforgettable views of River Arno. Rooms have wooden furniture and free Wi-Fi.

Rooms at Il Cestello overlook the Borgo Ognissanti area. You will be a short walk from Florence's famous Ponte Vecchio bridge.

Breakfast is served in the Cestello' main hall, next to an ancient fire place, and with views over the Cestello Church and Arno.

The bar serves a wide range of wines, cold drinks, American coffee, Italian espresso and, of course, cappuccino.

Good location and helpful staff
Good welcome. Staffs are friendly and attentive throughout our stay. It has a good location near the river and walking distance from all main attractions. Rooms are comfortable at the expected standard.

Certainly to be recommended
This small hotel is clean, with good sized rooms and friendly and helpful staff. Is is in what was, for us, an excellent location, overlooking the river Arno, and a short walk across the river to the SMN railway station, and to the Ponte Vecchio and all the central tourist sites. But do not rush across the river, there is much of interest to see within ten minutes walk from the hotel on this the quieter Oltrarno side, as well as a host of great places to eat, mostly well reviewed on TripAdvisor and frequented by a good mix of locals and tourists. Worth coming to terms with the local buses, a 10 journey ticket is available from any local Tabacchi, each ticket still valid for 90 minutes after validation on board a bus, even if you change buses within the time. At €1 per 90 minutes these are great value.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is within walking distance of the station and the centre but in a quiet location near the river and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was simple but clean. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Basic Hotel In A Great Location
This is a great small hotel that serves its purpose. It's right on the river and 10 minutes walk from both the bus/train station and the central tourist areas. Staff were very friendly and helpful with tourist questions. Breakfast did the job (croissants, jam's & coffee etc). Room was basic but clean.
