-There was no mention in any information, that check in was in another hotel.

The outdoor was locked, no answer to door bell, no answer to phone calls. We got in, because somebody was coming out of the building. The rooms were by a corridore and the corridore door was closed. No answer to door bell. We got in, because some was coming out. There was a little note inside of the corridore door, where was told that the check in was in another building. How on earth they think that people can find the way to check in this way!!. We were not the only ones who were more or less confused. -It was really cold in the room

-One of the beds was broken, so one of us had to sleep on the floor

Good location and friendly staff

I stayed here for 2 nights and loved being in the heart of Florence.

Staff were helpful and friendly with a lot of advice on where to visit. The room was a bit tired but good value for money. When I arrived, I had to check in at a different hotel as they were having building work done to the reception at Casa Micol, but this didn't cause any problems at all and I was still greeted with a warm welcoming. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence on a slight budget.

Immediate reaction on entering the room was that it's a bit of a kip.

It's fine for maybe a group of backpackers who don't really mind where they stay too much but it's an outdated room that doesn't inspire confidence in the cleanliness - I guess you get what you pay for with this one. On the plus side the location was good and if your Italian isn't too great they speak good english.

Good Staff

The Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

The hotel is near to the metro station. Negative points are that the air conditioner was not working during the hot September and there was no remote control in order to run them. But maybe they would give by the request. On the other hand, shower accessories should be firmed, because it was swinging.

Very good location, it took less than 10 minutes to walk to the Duomo, which is only a couple of minutes from many other tourist attractions. The room was quite basic, but it did the job as there is so much to do in Florence that staying in the hotel room during the day isn't really an option.

Breakfast was fine- there was some cereal and pastries but the bread was a bit stale. Overall it was a good place to stay for someone who wanted to get out and see as much of Florence as possible.

Budget travel

Close to the center in Florence, the old town.

Easy to go to center by walking. The place was little bit hard to find, but short phone call from outside the door, was best solution. However the room is on the third floor and yes, there is a elevator, small but still. The room itself was very ascetic and in my opinion too dark. Only two lamp on the wall and no reading lamp to bed. My solution was, I removed the lamp cover. You get your own keys to the outer door, the floor, the elevator and the room. There was no own reception. There was shower and wc. The shower worked well, that's important. Shower curtain caused bit of trouble and there was water all over the bathroom. In the room had only one working outlet. WiFi was poor and pretty useless in our room. Because traffic noise the windows had to be kept closed. Rooms were cleaned and sheets changed on a daily basis but not towels. Separately paid breakfast was not very comprehensive. We had three nights. All in all everything went well. Reception desk was very kind (in a other place than hotel). And when we were leaving they they offered a free storage place for a short time. It helped us.

The receptionist lady was very nice and helpful and the location was great.

However, my friend and I had to sleep on the tile floor the last night because there were bed bugs in the mattress. We each had over 20 bites after 3 nights (not exaggerating). It was also really loud from the cars moving out the window. This is the first review I have ever written for anything and usually take hotel ratings with a grain of salt because I know a lot of reviewers are just picky. But unless they change the mattresses asap, don't stay here.
