Very nice hotel over all, great location near enough the grand canal, without the crowds.
Only problem was the temperature, it was very cold. Even using the extra blankets it was very chilly. When I asked about why our rooms heating wasn't working I was told it was Italian law. Whatever the reason it made for a very cold and sleepless night.
Response from hotel
Dear Ms and Mr Peplar,
Thank you very much for choosing Palazzo Cendon for your stay in Venice and for your feedback: your comments will help other visitors to make the best out of their holiday and help us to constantly improve our services.
We would like only to inform you that, following the town regulations, the heating must be turned off on the 15th of April.
We hope to have made a significant contribution to make your holiday in Venice a truly unique experience and we look forward to welcoming you, your Family and Friends again at Palazzo Cendon.
Conveniently placed within easy walk from the train station, and close to the airport boat stop.
Not so easy to find the main entrance tucked down a side alley, but has restaurants and bars close by. A great budget choice, and enjoy the recycling instructions for your refusals, which they will disperse for you!
Lovely little hotel
Made to feel very welcome.
Because we were catching a train very early they made us a packed breakfast which was much appreciated.
Few days away
This hotel was great for our stay in Venice good location clean and tidy friendly staff
Nice but noisy
We stayed here for three nights, slept well the first night, but woke about six am by people walking up and down the corridors, I think they were the cleaners.
Night two was the worst. Lots of noise out side, and from the room next door. Had a bad nights sleep. Same on night three, noise outside but was better than previous night.
Very basic continental breakfast, but lovely cup of tea. Really nice bottle of wine in room on arrival. Lovely view of the canel from the window.
Bed was comfortable but could have done with an extra pillow. I could have asked for one and I am sure the hotel would have provided it. Over all an OK stay, but for me it was not the best hotel at this price that I have stayed in.
But maybe the sound proffing in all the hotels in Venice are the same.
I was really happy with my experience at this hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was good enough for a few days, and the location was excellent, near the train station and the airport ferry service, albeit far enough from the hustle and bustle to be relaxing, and there's an excellent little pub next door. One minor niggle, the dining room was rediculously small (there was a spacious unused lounge adjacent) so patrons struggled to move around and we couldn't get comfortable.
Magical location. Authentic Venetian room overlooking canal.
Lovely room with balcony overlooking life on the canal.
Lift allowed easy access to room for guests with limited mobility. Generous Continental breakfast in rather cramped dining room. Excellent service. .
Perfect tucked away location
Venice is a bustling, claustrophobic city where tourists outnumber the residents.
It was therefore a treat to find the Palazzo Cendon, situated on the second largest canal in Venice in the more airy and spacious Cannaregio area. There is a handy vaporetto stop 200m in one direction and in the other the principal tourist thoroughfare wending its way between the railway station and the Rialto bridge. The hotel itself is basic but clean and the staff very helpful. Ideal as a quiet base for anyone wishing to spend their day sight seeing. It isn't central but then there is little in Venice that is not crumblingly beautiful and unique. Food is a basic breakfast only but but fresh bread, juice and coffee are a good enough start in a place with so many eating opportunities.
Good value, good location, lovely room
I have nothing to fault about this hotel, and would stay there again.
We loved this hotel.
We booked two rooms and were given two adjoining suites - amazing value. Beautiful and traditionally decorated rooms with good aircon. Friendly, helpful staff. Well positioned in a slightly quieter area of Venice but only a two minute walk from the bustle.
