Extremely good but

This was centrally located and faultless for cleanliness and comfort.

The disappointing feature is that there is no breakfast which at £70-80.00 in the high season a night is really not acceptable. Coffee is always available on the reception but it is not the same as being able to boil a kettle in your own room and there is no facility for this. It is a nuisance not to have a hot drink when you wake up but have to go out. Staff could not have been more helpful but with the lack of breakfast and hot drinks on demand I would not stay there again. Others may not mind this deprivation!

A lovely warm friendly hotel, they will go out of their way to help you

The Hotel is what you pay for, cheap and cheerful, the staff were so warm and friendly.

We went for my daughters 21st, they put birthday banners up in the room for us and supplied us with a bottle of chilled Proseco. It was such a lovely stay for us in Venice. The hotel was easy to find when we got off the water taxi, it was really well situated for getting around.

Great budget hotel for a short break!

The Hotel San Samuele is a great choice for a short stay in Venice.

The double room (with en-suite) we had was fairly compact and simple, but very clean and tidy with plenty of hot water, heating. There are no telephones or coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms but the hotel provides free tea and coffee in the reception area (during opening hours) plus there is a fridge which customers can use. There is also a free Wi-Fi service which worked well. However, what makes the hotel so good is firstly the position as it is within easy walking distance of many attractions such as St Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge and Accademia and there are also plenty of good value cafes and restaurants on the doorstep which cater for breakfasts, snacks and dinners. However, what made our stay so good was the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff who went out of their way to make us welcome and provided really useful information and tips on how to get around the area and what to see such as local special events. This is not a 'luxury' hotel but for the price it is definitely one we would recommend for a weekend break or short stay in Venice.
