Reviews - The Alvanley Arms

4Self Classified Inn Ratings explained
Forest Road, Cotebrook, , Tarporley, CW6 9DS
The Alvanley Arms is the ideal place to stay for business people who prefer a friendly welcome to the anonymity of many larger hotels. Why not celebrate a special occasion with a candlelight dinner, fine wine, a malt whisky (or two) and an overnight stay with us here at the Alvanley Arms Inn. We have seven individually designed guest bedrooms with wonderful views of the Cheshire countryside. Each room has a character and charm of its own retaining the original beams. Fine fabrics and prints adorn the tastefully furnished rooms. The oak beamed bar offers a wide range of hand pulled cask ales, a large selection of wines & malt whiskies along with a welcoming log fire. Choose from a selection of traditional country food and contemporary fine dining as well as an imaginative specials board, which changes daily. Our menu changes every few weeks to reflect seasonal availability. Residents of the Alvanley Arms benefit from free entry to Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre which also owned by us and is immediately adjacent. We aim to provide our customers with quality service delivered by enthusiastic well trained staff..

Old And Tired
I had single room (No 2) the room was tiny.
It was extremely hot and although the window
Did open the noise from the drinkers sitting
Outside meant I had to keep it closed. This
Was during week,so weekend I imagine
Would be a lot noisier. I had chips when I
Arrived + had to send them back as they
Were undercooked. I only had toast (only 1
Slice was given) so can't comment on
B/fast. Overpriced in my opinion. I certainly
Wouldn't pay £110 for double room. Plus
Side staff were nice.

fab stay
I would thoroughly recommend the Alvanley Arms. We were made to feel so very welcome, nothing was too much trouble as we needed an early breakfast one morning and the food was divine.

Go to the Alvanley Arms if you want to stay in a clean hotel in a quiet rural location. Your hosts, Julie & Harry, are very friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent (especially the Lamb Henry!). I went and will definitely go back!

There was a fair wait for breakfast but the food was good and freshly cooked.
The decor was a bit tired. The bedroom had a sloping floor-atmospheric??
I felt the room was a bit cramped for 2 people -no room for a bedside table at one side. I was travelling alone so it was ok.
