Family room for three adults.

Booked a family room for three adults at George & Dragon on a Friday night, for the bargain price of £93 including breakfast.

We fully expected a bit of noise at night being above a pub. The overall stay was good but we were initially greeted with rudeness and had a few slight complaints. We were due to attend a wedding at 2pm, having called a week earlier to see if it was possible to have an early check in, instead of 3pm. We were refused, however advised we could have the keys as we would not be returning until after midnight. On attending the hotel, the receptionist lady was standoffish, almost aggressive. Advised the keys would not be available until 3pm. There seemed no flexibility, she also refused to split the bill allowing us to pay cash and card. We managed to get the keys after a debate for 1pm but no access was allowed to the room. After this confrontation we went upstairs to our friends room to get ready, again challenged by Unknown man in aggressive manner, demanding an explanation on what we're doing. The overall rooms are basic and outdated. Our room had a damp problem, several loose floor tiles in the bathroom, broken toilet seat. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was a good size. The room includes tea making facilities, for two people despite being a family room booked for three adults, no milk in the room and no phone to request milk. A few security concerns, were having to leave a note in the car window with our room number on. Not being told that the hotel doors did not automatically lock and required locking from the inside. Which resulted in our room being unlocked all night.

The hotel was noisy at night but this did not bother us, as we anticipated this. The breakfast was amazing, couldn't fault the staff in the morning of departure.
