Friendly staff and clean, sizeable, comfortable rooms
I have stayed at the Passage House several times and have always had a pleasant stay.
The pub next door does not reflect the quality of the main hotel. Book through Best Western as I booked through Laterooms 24 hours before arrival and the hotel hadn't received my booking (I showed them my booking confirmation email and they did give me a room upgrade however)
A perfect place to unwind
Very fine location overlooking the water, the beautiful weather for the breakfast room was perfect.
Birds and rabbits on the lawn, the gathering of swans on the estuary and the service could not be faulted.
view from balcony.
Would have been nice to have had more of a view from the balcony in the room maybe a cut out in the wall with some toughened glass as view could only be seen whilst standing up against the wall and not when sat down at table and chairs or from inside the room.
Shame to loose that beautiful scenery.
Paid £105 did not get items listed to be in room, 2 single beds together to make king bed!.
Phoned after to be told robes missing from room which were never there from beginning I am being charged £25 each making £50. When telling them this is what I thought they told me to take them to small claims court. Head of housekeeping Victoria who I spoke to.
Ideal stop gap hotel
The Hotel had a very similar to feel to a travel lodge, which i felt was slightly overpriced for what you get.
The room was basic and had been newly decorated, the room was spotless, very clean and could not fault it. The wifi did not work in the room, not enough signal. The Receptionist was very helpful and pleasent.
I would suggest that in the reception area or in the room booklet that information on places to go and attractions are available in Devon should be displayed, because there was nothing.
I was looking for a last minute room in Newton Abbott in order to be able to fully enjoy their annual beer festival.
This seemed to be the last room left in the town. It was however at a convenient distance, clean and comfortable. The booking was without breakfast and this turned out to be £10 each so a comfortable cafe was found that produced the same goods for less.
An extremely welcoming receptionist and because a wedding reception was taking place, the hotel had made sure our room was well away from the noise.
In fact it was so quiet it was hard to believe there was anyone else staying.
We stayed for a short break, in the South Lodge.
Great views of the estuary, good value for money and a good place for a short break. Dinner at the pub next door was lovely, would stay here again.
Very comforting bed in a lovely room with a nice view of the river.
The best Best Western!
Best one of this chain we have stayed at.
We had an annex room which involved an external walk to both the pub and the restaurant but was worth it as the food in both was excellent. Room was clean and functional with a lovely view over the pub and the water.
