65% would recommend it to a friend
The curtains did not fit the windows fully so we were awake at dawn.
Not desirable for a morning when we had a chance of a lie in.
Breakfast was quite small and the quantity of Water and juice very restricted. It wouldn't take a lot to make it really good.
If these issues were fixed the whole experience would be excellent & We'd definitely stay again!
cold tap was very warm, room was very hot, pigeons outside very very noisy in the morning
Overnight stay at King Hotel
Good location but very overpriced for such a small and basic room.
Although compared to others on offer this was the least expensive. It's more suitable to a couple/group of people as it would work out a lot cheaper. Staff were friendly enough and the room and hotel was clean.
mid week stay had a full sea view room, clean, good size, breakfast adequate.
In all a good stay for the price.
Room a little dated, but very clean, bathroom spotless.
Our room did not have a seaview, so a view of the back of other buildings, but hotel in a really good position right on the seafront and only a short walk into town. Breakfast was great, good choice, very attentive service. Very good value for money, Brighton is not a cheap place to stay generally, this was excellent value for money.
Let down by the window
The biggest disappointment for our stay was the state of the windows in the sea view room.
I did leave a complaint at reception and was told it was due to the age of the hotel and not being able to put in UPVC windows. I felt that all it needed was for the windows to receive a regular coat of paint. It is the first point of call when entering the room to look out of the window. Otherwise, staff were very good, restaurant - food and staff excellent.
I have ticked that I wouldn't recommend the hotel to a friend because of the state of the window.
Not good enough !
Reception a shambles, busy and only one member of staff who spent forever trying to contact maids to see if rooms were free [14-50 ] .
Room clean and tidy but two large [ window to ceiling ] windows street level no net curtains . Lovely sunny day and we had to close the curtains for privacy . The shower was over the bath, not a problem , except the floor of the bath was not flat so you can not stand steady , also very slippery , no anti slip matt . and if you were old or disabled the bath was very high to climb into . also local parking is very expensive £20 overnight and no discount offered by the hotel when asked. Would not go back !
Nice hotel in a great location, good rooms and friendly staff , great value for money .
Didn't have any food but was able to use the bar at 230am. Would recommend for couples
Tired but acceptable
The room was dated & decoration was very tired.
Situated on the top floor & the lift was out of service.
Good room but staff a bit rude
Our room had been booked several weeks in advance so we received a special rate.
On the day of booking in, we were early and dropped off our bag at the hotel. I was going to pay for the room then by cash but was told to settle when we came back later. An hour later, I had a phone call from the hotel saying that my card payment had declined. I said I was going to pay by cash, but then I was advised that the rate of the room had gone up by £18/night if I didn't use the card I had originally booked with. Eventually, they agreed not to charge any more and I paid the amount orignally agreed when I returned. I was going to walk out and change hotels. They were a bit rude about it. Next time, I prefer to pay in advance.
