Not a great stay
The room was very small and very dated.
It didn't smell very fresh and was extremely hot.
The en-suite was awful, the shower was tiny and the water pressure kept dropping off. On a week day they don't start breakfast until 8am, so as I had to leave and be at work, i was unable to have breakfast.
Loud yet stylish
We should have taken on the warning of the music, both inside the hotel and out on the main busy front street.
The only way to handle this is to join in otherwise you could become like Victor Meldrew. As we were tired, wi-fi cut out as did the tv signal there was little sleep. The large cooked breakfast was a positive and so was the interiors. If you want to groove on then it is good value for money.
Disappointed with the standard of accommodation
This hotel needs to address the problems it has with noise.
I was unable to sleep due to the uncomfortable bed and the fact that I could even hear people's phones vibrating on silent in other rooms. Although the rooms had been recently refurbished it had been done to a very basic standard. Did not feel it was value for money.
20 at The Kings
Staff were very friendly and helped me out with getting my bearings as I'd never been to Swindon.
Good value for money.
single room was a bit grim
Hotel was nice enough, the staff were helpful and the breakfast was good.
However the room was match box size, grim and old looking. Not good value for money. The toilet was dirty and the shower was cold water only!
A Happy Night - 20 at the Kings
After a same day telephone booking (because of internet problems) I arrived very late at 11:00pm at the hotel - after the time they normally close the reception.
I had probably chosen one of the loudest and busiest nights as there was a very well attended halloween disco going on as well as another big reception. Apparently, some of Swindon's night spots have recently closed and revellers had moved to the Kings and another venue across the road. They were dressed as ghouls, ghosts, vampires and zombies. There was a joyful, respectful, orderly but happy atmosphere and I felt perfectly safe. When I booked, I wasn't aware there'd be a loud disco until 3:00 am but after my head touched the pillow some time close to midnight, I heard and felt nothing more - without the aid of alcohol - just tiredness and a very comfortably bed with clean fresh-smelling sheets. It was a shared bathroom but that did not detract from the experience. The price was extremely reasonable and I don't believe I could have expected more for the money. The bouncers, the receptionist, the catering staff who saw to a big and delicious breakfast were all great and I felt more like a regular and welcome guest than a client who wanted the basics. Thank you to everyone who made my stay a very happy one.
The place was very poor I wouldn't not even stayed in there if I knew what it was like
Nice clean room, albeit quite basic.
Bit noisy though due to the place being a nightclub in the evening. Of course this is not stated when booking through LateRooms.com

fabulous food. didnt know it was a nightclub until 3am..but thst was ok for us.
We stayed mid-week in a room overlooking the Main Street, there was a lot of noise outside, which the hotel couldn't control, but maybe some sort of sound roofing could be fitted, secondary glazing.
the room was quite large and clean, the bathroom was massive, but the shower was a let-down, over the bath, low pressure and very short bursts of hot water. Breakfast was included, it was ok, but the bacon although it smelled nice, was a bit dry. If this is midweek, think I will give the weekend a miss
