Basic accommodation, service and, in my opinion, overpriced.
Very helpful, friendly member of staff.
Rooms not ensuite but the bathroom was next door to the bedroom I stayed in. No lift.
Evening out to see a show
Owner was very friendly and helpful.
Very close to city centre, pavilions and theatre so if going to see a show a very good place to stay, they are all about 3 mins away, also not far to walk to the Hoe.
A basic stop for one night only
Unfortunately, the only good point about this stay was that we had a comfortable night's sleep...
My wife and I had booked a Double En-suite room but on arrival were informed we couldn't stay in that room due to a leak. However, in spite of empathising that for personal/disability related reasons we much preferred an en-suite, the only 2 options we were given was a non en-suite or a family room for an extra £5. So we did not feel the extra charge was reasonable, as it was the B&B's problem rather than our's as customers.
Then came breakfast... the advertised price on LateRooms was £3 each, but when we got there we were told it was now £3.50 each (and we had to pay that in spite of the price advertised...) It was also a very basic breakfast: "Continental Breakfast"=toast or cereal only. When accepting the offered Corn Flakes I was served Special K. + the dining room was cold.
Ok for short stay
Very nice but also very small room with a small double bed.
Nice clean place with everything you need for one night as a couple, better for single occupant really. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy/cheap parking outside the hotel. Would recommend for cheap clean comfy accommodation for a short break.
Offered an upgrade of room at a charge of £10 ,breakfast was £3.50 nt £3 as quoted bt good value.
shower wasn't very warm even on 8 bt was ok for a quick shower.walls very thin so could hear other ppl who were staying there.
A weekend stay in Pymouth
The Belmont Hotel is very well placed for a weekend break in Plymouth.
The rooms are good quality, the only drawback is that the toilet is outside. The hosts are very kind and helpful.
The first night in room 9 was cold, tv didn't work and on hot water in the shower, the second night was a lot better.
I was put in room 3.
No toilet in room.
The room was very small and although it was described as en-suite it didn't have a W.C.
which meant we had to share and as someone was showering in the shared bathroom it meant a long wait to use the toilet. The staff were very nice.
The owner was lovely, nothing was too much trouble for her, lovely comfortable room, ideal location, fantastic home cooked breakfast.
