Late summer at Coombe Farm
My sister and I were very comfortable and made to feel really welcome.
Kirstin brought us a pot of tea and biscuits when we arrived. Our stay was relaxing and we slept very well. the beds were super comforable. Breakfast was lovely - apricots, prunes, yoghurt and a perfectly boiled egg.although we could have had a huge cooked breakfast and fruit. All the other guests were sociable and chatty too - probably because Kirstin was so friendly. We could use the sitting room and the garden and there was plenty of parking space The surroundings were really calm and peaceful. My only reservation was the shared bathroom but everything worked out during the three nights we stayed and there were no queues.
The best B&B in the South West.
And that's without a shadow of a doubt.
A wonderful farmhouse in beautiful countryside.
The room - and in fact every part of the house that I saw - was absolutely spotless and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The staircase seems narrow when you're carrying luggage and the TV in my room was quite small but I didn't find these things a problem. It's also worth noting that the access road is quite narrow and requires caution. No "quality of food" rating simply because I left before breakfast on each day of my visit. On this experience I would happily return to Higher Coombe next time I'm in the area.
Very welcoming and comfortable. Better facilities than some 4 star hotels. Nice little extras like fresh milk.
