Reviews - The Culbone

Our dream was to find a Restaurant with views of Exmoor, that was as beautiful as the quality of the local produce. When we saw The Culbone, we knew it was time to start work. We source the best local produce from nearby farms, and start work on our community garden and allotment soon. We are really proud that our local team are developing their careers, at The Culbone. Warm, knowledgeable service is just as important as the food, and a good night’s sleep to us. Relax and unwind while you enjoy the stunning views from our peaceful bedrooms, and outside dining area. The seasonal views of the Valley and Moors are breathtaking (the coastal mist adds real magic to the landscape). Lush green in the spring and summer and full of character and action in autumn and winter. Partridge, pheasant and deer are our companions in the milder months, with wild Exmoor ponies roaming the moors nearby all year round. Staying at The Culbone is a great way to experience life on Exmoor. Whether staying with us for a weekend food safari, a mid-week break or visiting us for dinner, we will ensure your time with us is memorable. Nice!
I stayed one night and wish I could have stayed on a bit longer. The Culbone offers a really pleasant, quiet country atmosphere and the rooms are very well appointed. The food was excellent at all times, including the breakfast, so you won't need to concern yourself with eating elsewhere. There is no mobile connectivity in the area though, so be sure to deal with any pressing calls before you arrive. If you're looking to relax then you can't go wrong here.

Ideally placed for a walking/touring break.
Located on the coastal highway around the south west you come to the Culbone. It has great outdoor space for eating and drinking. The restaurant serves a varied menu which uses local and quality ingredients along with some very nice wine. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are very welcoming . We took the walk to Robbers Bridge and I would recommend wearing walking boots. Don't be surprised if a grouse or pheasant surprises you by flying out in front of you! All in all a good overnighter

Excellent
We arrived quite late but were just in time for dinner with minutes to spare! Room was cosy and comfortable with stunning view. Food was absolutely delicious, I thoroughly recommend the lamb. Great location for leaving the car behind and exploring Exmoor on foot. DBB rate excellent value for money. We will be back!!
