Good food , but a wee bit sparse. When the chef vents his thoughts regarding a diners complaint, he needs to be a bit more discreet .

Pleasant accommodation
The hotel is in a beautiful position right in the centre of the village, right next to the famous Yarn Market building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bright with all the usual facilities. The restaurant could possibly do with a bit up upgrading but the food was delicious and beautifully presented both Dinner and Breakfast. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

hotel is o.k. , parking is awful, reception not helpful regards parking.

ManagementResponse

We are sorry that you do not feel Reception was helpful regarding parking; we know it can sometimes be an issue at peak times in the summer in Dunster, but we hope our Reception staff would always try to help find a free parking space whenever possible. The parking in the nearby village car park is free overnight, and for all guests staying two or more nights we would normally offer a free parking pass for the daytime so in any event they do not have to pay to park. Please accept our apologies if this did not happen in your case.

Not worth the money!
This hotel is very overpriced!! It is very outdated in decoration and facilities and the plumbing in our room was also leaking as well as a shower tray which didnt drain away properly. Provision of a mirror with overhead light were a bonus but then there were no sockets anywhere on the same side of the room for a hairdryer!!
Upon payin the bill where we expressed our disappointment at the price relative to our room/experience, we were told that the hotel is a listed building and therefore not made modern...the decoration is stuck in the 1970s not the 1870s and could easily be made cleaner and more contemporary whilst keeping the character of the building.
Overall very disappointed and would not recommend this hotel to anyone else. Disappointed.
