Reviews - Moorlands

3Visit England Assessed Guest House Ratings explained
Woody Bay, Parracombe, Lynton, EX31 4RA
Moorlands is a 19th Century guest house offering stunning views of the countryside thanks to its location in six acres of grounds within Exmoor National Park. Situated within two miles walk or drive of the beautiful North Devon coast path at Woody Bay. Only four miles away are the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth which offer a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as Woolacombe and Croyde beaches.

Our emphasis is on peace quiet and relaxation with views over the gardens towards the Heddon valley, Trentishoe common and further towards Wales. Our residents lounge is available to all guests to relax next to our real fire with a book from our small library or a nightcap from the bar. Although we dont provide an evening meal there are a number of pubs, cafes and resaurants which are easily accessable from Moorlands, including the Woody Bay Station Light Railway which has a cafe open throughout the season.

All rooms are ensuite with bath or shower, fully centrally heated with quality furnishings, colour TV and beverage making facilities. Two rooms are located on the ground floor if required. We also offer two self catering apartments sleeping 2 / 3 persons where dogs are welcome.

Please be advised the self catering apartments are not included in the 4 star rating of the property.

There are a range of activities available in the area for guests such as horse riding, tennis, golf, fresh and sea fishing. There are acres of Exmoor to explore either with map and compass or one of the many Exmoor Ranger walks arranged by the National Park Authority.
Accessible from our gardens is the lovingly restored Woody Bay Station, offering a step back in time with regular steam train rides towards Parracombe.

Good location alongside the woody bay steam railway and a few minutes drive to Lynton/Lnmouth.
Very quiet, lots to see and do in the area.

Excellent accomodation and hosts
Lovely room, everything you need. Breakfast was lovely. Only negative was that there wasn't much hot water pressure in the shower.

great accommodation in great location
Two adults and child staying in the self catering accommodation here. Lovely and clean, private apartment. Grounds were beautiful, just by the Woody Bay Steam railway and easy to reach Lynton, Ilfracombe, Barnstaple from. Beds comfortable, so too pillows which seems to be a rarity in many places (in my experience). Easy parking. Felt like a home from home and we would love to return.

Escape to the Country
The hotel is well placed for the North Devon coastline and is set in lovely grounds. A narrow guage steam railway is directly accessible from the garden, perfect for rail enthusiasts. We felt the hotel also offered a very homely atmosphere and we were made to feel welcome and were well looked after. Very clean accommodation and food very good too. Would certainly return.

Kein Restaurant, also Fahren zum nächsten Pub (ca. 4 Meilen).
Preis war Sonderangebot. Regulärer Preis wäre deutlich zu hoch gewesen.
