the hotel was in a lovely position...the room was lovely...lovely view....great car parking...very friendly reception staff...lovely little touches in room like sweets, fruit a good selection of tea and coffee and wine and water....only negatives are.......too overpriced for what you get....i work in the hospitality industry...and you can get the same quality for a lot cheaper...although it was lovely....only real negative was the dreaded breakfast!!!....had to sit in what they call the sun lounge....not really...was a lean to corridor...leading to rooms...felt like we were sitting in the hallway....some other people asked to be moved from there...but we didnt want to complain...it was like sitting in a bus shelter...(felt extremely sorry for the disabled elderly couple next to us...who it looked like they were sitting in the hallway!..but didnt want to complain either!!)....the waiting staff were far from sociable...and even took our plates before we both had finished...a definete no-no..thats extremely rude..it was like it was all too much trouble....such a shame as the reast of the staff were lovely...and it was a good stay...would recommend....Without breakfast!!

surprising gem
I selected this hotel because we needed a lift for my husband. We were pleased at how nice it was and how good the food was.

Disappointing
We had a twin room, not a double which we had ordered and on the 2nd day the beds were not made. Breakfast was expensive, 2 hard boiled eggs which were supposed to be soft, toast and tea £12. The swimming pool stunk of a woman's perfume Youth Dew on 2 days running, could understand one day but felt chlorine should have remedied that on second day. On the plus side, views were spectacular as were the grounds, may have been better to pitch a tent there. Am so sorry to write a negative review.
