Reviews - Home Place Farmhouse Spa

4Self Classified Guest Accommodation Ratings explained
Home Place Farmhouse Spa Challacombe, Barnstaple, EX31 4TS
We offer adult only accommodation in cosy cottages with breakfast and use of the adjoining spa facillties.

Think National Park setting with roaring log fires, soft, squishy sofas and beams, more cosy country cottage than gleaming marble hotel opulence.

We welcome small numbers of guests with personal attention rather than being an impersonal hotel spa. Walking the moor and visiting the village pub, a short walk away, are just as important a part of the holiday experience.

Each cottage has its own outdoor sitting area and there is ample off road parking.

relax and chill wekend
Booked the 3 day break for my partner and I to relax and chill out,
On arrival we were greeted by the owner and shown to our cottage, it was very cosy and welcoming and had all that we needed.
It was quiet and peaceful with only the local sheep and horse for noise level! the pub up the road served good food and beer, walks a plenty, and the spa was great to relax in after a long walk.

Rustic country retreat
Arrived for a short weekend in driving rain. Good description how to get there on website so no problems finding it. The owner was very friendly and showed us around. For the positives the place had plenty of space for the 2 of us with 2 good sized bedrooms, kitchen with essentals and small dining table and sofas. The minus points are that the bathroom can not be heated properly and that the accomodation and bathroom could do with a facelift. We liked the remoteness and wonderful peace and quiet but this might not be everybodies cup of tea .A pub the black venus is only 2 minutes walk away and does decent food. We did not check the spa .
