Impressive Salcombe Hotel
Excellent hotel in a beautiful location.
Sea view rooms are expensive but the view is impressive, higher up rooms preferable. Lack of air conditioning is surprising in a hotel of this quality and rooms could be very warm in the Summer. Our bed left something to be desired and one other issue that arose was not acted upon but overall the stay was pleasant and enjoyable and we will certainly consider a return visit.
Luxury hotel with great views - shame the Wifi is unreliable!
Really, really nice location.
The rooms with estuary views are well worth the extra money. The quality of the room was very good, with nive touches like binoculars to admire the view, and a blanket for cosying up on the balcony. The decor has a seaside theme, with a modern twist. Very comfortable. Food is good, but not amazing. Only problem we had was with the wifi, which was slow and unreliable. Other than that - a nice time was had by all.
Was a bargain mid week. Not sure I would pay full price.
6-star rating for Salcombe!
This was the second time that I have stayed at Salcombe Harbour Hotel.
Fantastic ambience, extremely helpful staff and very first class accommodation. The beds and pillows are the most comfortable I have ever experienced.
We have stayed in several hotels in Salcombe, this one is very over rated by notoriety.
The viewof the estuary from the restaurant is totally spoilt by the footop apartments. Parking is good/novel as the town is difficult for parking in season. The room was ok but the balcony poor. It is an absolute must for an estuary view if your spending any time at all in your room.
It was noisy outside our booked room due to tree surgery opposite.
We were offered a free upgrade to an estuary view room within a couple of hours of arriving (we hadn't even complained). Excellent customer service and the room was wonderful.
Superb Harbourside Hotel
Saw this Hotel a few years ago whilst it was being refurbished and promised we would stay when we had the chance.
We were not disappointed; glorious fitted out room overlooking the estuary, fantastic food and service, easy to park and easy to access the lovely town of Salcombe...........and we had superb sunny weather - a perfect weekend break!!!!
aesthetics over practicality.
very good hotel, very good experience.
only niggle was i could not work out the plug/tap/shower arrangement, and the light switches have a mind of their own.
From the moment we arrived we were looked after with valet parking and porter collecting the luggage followed by being shown to our room by friendly reception staff.
The room,a deluxe double, was spotless with very comfortable 'cool coastal' furnishings (not a fake seagull or lighthouse in sight!). The complimentary gin & sherry was most welcome and so was the ice bucket and lemon slices delivered to our door. Other touches of comfort such as the loan of a mini iPad and a Nespresso machine further enhanced the experience. The only slight disappointment was at breakfast the following morning. The experience didn't live up to the service of the rest of the hotel as the waiting staff didn't explain protocol and left us waiting to order for a long time after which it took a while before our food arrived. Having said that there was plenty of choice and the food was delicious when it arrived.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Fabulous view and great service with excellent facilities.
