Excellent stay
We stayed at this lovely hotel and really enjoyed ourselves, the room was very good and extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food excellent.
The only area was the noise levels outside if you stay in a room on the road then it can be noisy

Highly recommended
Lovely hotel, only one gripe I would have is that the room we stayed in didnt have much of a view in fact it was of a roof top with a vent coming out of it.
Apart from that the room and everything else about the place was quality and I would happily stay there again, albeit in a room with a slightly better outlook!

tall people
My husband is 6ft 4 in and found the bed with metal rails at base uncomfortable.
Also, the shower head was fixed very low for him and he found it difficult to shower

Our room was very comfortable and I was particularly impressed with the sachet of REAL decaf coffee for the cafetiere. There was a lovely view over the garden and fields. Towels were thick and fluffy and the large bath a bonus - although perhpas the bathroom needed a little refeshing. The breakfast was beautifully presented and I had never had such a tasty vegetarian option before. I also loved the presentation of honey still in it's honeycomb - it was delicious.
The atmosphere in the bar area was cosy, staff friendly and an interesting mix of people quietly enjoying the environment.

The Crown Hotel, Blandford Forum, Dorset
My husband & myself stayed at the Crown Hotel for 2 nights during 11-12 April 2014. The hotel is very elegant/beautiful & backdates to 1750's, originally a coach house (apparently haunted but didn't see anyone !) still bursting with loads of charm (great). Excellent staff who were very friendly & helpful (thank you). The food was of a high standard (the breakfast is outstanding - all locally sourced & confirmed by the taste *****). Only issue being in Room No: 25 - We switched our room radiator right down the heat was quite unbearable in the night. But be assured, the hotel is lovely & situated in main market town centre (market days are Tue & Sat - worth a view) so you can shop & explore on foot to view the beautiful 17th Century buildings of the town. Recommended hotel.
