Fore Street, Silverton, , Exeter, EX5 4HP
The Silverton Inn is a family-run free house located in the centre of the picturesque Mid Devon village of Silverton, just a few miles from Devon's capital city, Exeter. We are ideally situated for holidays, business trips and the University of Exeter. We offer excellent homemade food, local beers and comfortable bed and breakfast. We pride ourselves on great homemade traditional British cooking. We justifiably boast about our homemade food from the chef's speciality pies to locally sourced prime steaks and we even grow our own herbs on the premises. Mid August stay near Exeter
Staff at the Inn were very pleasant and gave prompt service throughout. Both breakfast and dinner wer good quality. The room was comfortable and quiet even though it was on the main road. The Inn is close to main roads to enable travel to other parts of the County.
The only problem I experenced was the wifi stopped working half way through but this was minor and not essential to my stay.
If you wish to read while eating, a position nearer the windows would have been better as it was a bit dark further in, closer to the bar counter.

Apart from an initial delay in gaining access to the property, this was a nice little hotel. The room was spacious, well appointed and spotless. The breakfast and bar food were very good and the location quiet and very peaceful. Downside was the lack of parking facilities but, this was only a minor problem. Owners were nice and helpful.

Silverton inn
We chose to stay at the Silverton inn having been informed our usual BB was booked up so on our arrival in a small quiet Village that seemed to have more cars parked than properties we managed to get a parking slot and made our way to one of Three Pubs in the Village. The Silverton Inn looked Tired from the outside but on being showed our bedroom our thoughts changed somewhat as the room was really clean , tidy, and a 32inch tv with tea and coffee making facilities. So No problem , however on our three night stay We didn't see any customers using the bar however the only time we used the bar area was to eat our Full english breakfast's which was really nice. Our only thoughts were that the eating area was in need of a make over and bring it upto date in line with the upstairs accomodation.. don't let this review put you from staying as really the best bits were the bedroom then the food. Silverton is near to Exeter and a 15min drive will get you into the city centre, all other areas of North Devon is in reach ...
