Two night weekend stay - sole traveller
Get place for a couple of nights break visiting friends.
Booked the small double which was fine for single occupancy. The building is lovely and the room had a view over the terraces and garden. Bathroom was compact and functional, and the shower was powerful and hot !. It may be a simple thing, but the room had a proper 'normal' kettle (better than the normally tiddly hotel kettles) with plenty of sachets of coffee and little pots of UHT Milk - very nice if you need a cuppa. Annette is a lovely host - very friendly and gave good recommendations for places to eat.
Lovely accomodation but be prepared to make your own breakfast
The cottage is located down a rural lane just off the A38, close enough to be handy, but we never heard any traffic or aeroplane noise, so ideal location.
There is ample parking and the accommodation is very clean and the host was attentive. The room had the old world country cottage charm with old wooden doors and stone floor, but modern amenities like a nice 'walk-in 'shower, t.v. and hot drinks facilities. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the 'self service' breakfast, cereals and toast with a hot drink, and you had to queue to use the toaster and kettle. It reminded me of living in digs, might suit some but I think I would rather pay more for being served at breakfast with something more substantial.
A gorgeous peaceful place hidden away from the noise of cars, planes, trains - everything, except the sounds of nature.
Only the Lonely!
A bright smile from the receptionist on arrival...and didn't see another member of staff after that, not even at breakfast.
Nor on leaving; it was like the Marie Celeste!!
Dirty room . Not value for money
Room had a more than a few spider web.
Bathroom drain smelled. Poor choice of breakfast. No wifi
Booked late on the day of arrival, the owner then rang me within 20 mins of my booking to confirm my arrival time.
Just 2 mins from Bristol airport and perfect for a quiet nights sleep as there is no traffic or aircraft noise. Greeted by the owner, showed room etc.. Room was excellent, vaulted ceiling, massage shower, in room facilities. Continental breakfast was available as part of booking as as I left at 5am this was perfect. Would definitely stay again, if you want an early getaway, park on the road spaces to avoid being blocked in
Would recommend this definitely.
Meadow Cottage Guest House
A very nice large cottage.
Did not expect serve yourself continental breakfast only. Fire doors all propped open, not good and no WiFi although it was ad.
Meadow Cottage Guest House
Beautiful hotel and very good service.
Friendly welcome by Labrador guard dogs to meadow cottages, a picturesque rural hideaway.
Authentic, beams and flagstones throughout and large enough for privacy. Really liked the help yourself breakfast with plenty of choice. Lovely courtyard and view, though too wet on our stay to enjoy. Definitely recommend a stay here.
Pretty cottage full of character.
Old oak doors, antiques, paintings all over. Well located and great value for money
