Single nights stay at the Rockford Inn

This was a real pleasure from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the hospitality was genuine, the food excellent (we came back on another day to eat there again!) The quality of the accommodation was excellent.

I cant find anything to criticize about the way this lovely little place is run.

Idyllic place to stay

Lovely hotel to escape to off the beaten track with many walks straight from the door.

Clean rooms if a bit on the small side. Great breakfasts and ample choice on dinner menu.

A Real Find

The Rockford Inn is a little gem by the tumbling East Lyn River in a wooded combe.

If you're looking for a serene, relaxing place with friendly owners and staff, comfortable rooms, and delicious food, this is the place for you. The hiking from the inn to Watersmeet and Lynmouth is delightful (even in winter) and if you choose to return over the moor by way of Countisbury Hill you're in for a really good work-out. National Trust lands all around. A place to return to again and again.

Wonderful couple of days ....

The Rockford Inn is a welcoming and comfortable place to stay in a beautiful setting.

Very good food and service (we ate there both nights) with a good range on the menu (breakfast was also very good). The bedroom was well appointed and the 5ft bed very comfortable - it was lovely to hear the river outside. The very friendly staff were keen to make our stay as pleasant as possible and offered advice on things to do locally. All-in-all I would give the Rockford Inn 99 out of a hundred and I'm only knocking off a point because the fire in the bar is a bit smoky resulting in red eyes by the end of the evening. We would definitely visit again.

Customer service couldn't be faulted.

Great location for walks year round. Some brief 1 page guides / leaflets on local walk ideas would have been useful

Lovely break

I have now stayed at the Rockford a number of times and it just seems to get better over the years.

Cathryn and Sarah are great hosts and have obviously worked hard to improve the hotel over the years they have been there.

Looking forward to the next stay.
