tired, but fab breakfast
The hotel is old and has had little refurbishment.
Did for a night but wouldnt have wanted to stay longer. Cannot fault location, although stayed on a Monday so nightclub wasnt active. Hotel needs a lot of investment to compete with larger hotels in the area. Breakfast was very good and good quality ingredients.
Quality at an affordable price.
An excellent deal on my 2 night stay, huge room and very comfortable.
Needs carpet change, wall and window cleaning asap
Not happy on first day as they weren't able to move us to another room.
Room needed carpet change-- so dirty that baby can't even crawl on it. It even smell like the previous occupant had a dog. Bed also had stain. squeaky and wobbly bed. Wardrobe/cabinet needs changing or screws. The second room had better carpetting but had a huge wine stain infront of the toilet door. Had to ask batteries for tele remote. They changed tele on our return. Wine stain also on tub. Probably from last occupant again. Flooding on sink. Needs plumbing. Window in toilet had loads of bird pooh. Sqeaky bed again. The Filming that was ongoing in hotel made us uncomfortable, as director hurried us to leave when i needed to speak to receptionist. Emailed hotel to avail 10% discount stated on email if staying for 2 days. Nobody bothered emailing. Awful stay. Definitely not coming back.
A nice size & comfortable room for 2 grandparents & 2 young grandchildren
We could nothing to complain about except the minor irritation of having a large bathroom but no hand towel any where near the wash basin.
The shower could have been more powerful.
Stay at The Victoria Hotel
The staff were very friendly & helpful so recommended just for this reason alone & we had great breakfast each morning but the £20.00 evening menu is a little restricted.
Plus there is a very pleasant swimming pool on site & also beauty treatments which I took advantage of (they had a discount when booking - recommended). Very pleasant stay but unfortunately we had a stag party next door so awake from 1am onwards . Would still recommended this hotel located in Newquay as all shops, beach etc very closed - excellent. This is our 2nd visit so will return in future. Thank you. Julie.
The hotel was so lovely and clean, staff was excellent friendly and polite.
Our room was a superior room very room and large. Was nice to have a big TV in room and plenty of tea and coffee . Excellent
Had a great time.
Hotel was very central. Do be wary that there is a one way system in Newquay so plan your journey carefully to reach the hotel. Hotel was grand in the entrance. Rooms a bit dated but didn't put us off. Very clean.
The Victoria Hotel in Newquay was very pleasent indeed
The staff are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
It is clean and very cosy inside. The view from the dining room is truly stunning. The only slight disappointment was that the Swim/sauna area is a bit shabby and dated but the Jacuzzi made up for it !!
Good friendly service, I would stay again
Hi Hotel was clean and tidy and just a short walk to the town,Staff were very friendly and chatty, we ate ate there mexian resturant and the food was very good and the staff very attentive.
The price of the accommodation was very good value for money, I would stay at this hotel again.
Great staff, but place needs a little TLC
Walking in, the place is pretty impressive, log fires, new sofas and crystal chandeliers.
However go up the stairs and the cracks start to show. The carpet on the stairs is held down with duct tape, and the furniture in the rooms is chipped and stained. Most of this could of been avoided if they had coasters in the room. The room itself was clean, but the bed was hard, and one of those " two singles joined together " types leaving a gap in the middle. The bathroom was impressive with nice fixtures, but again age was showing with missing grouting and tell tale black mould in places.
There was no welcome folder in the room....in fact no information about the place at all!!. We didn't know when breakfast was, what facilities were available and their opening time, no idea if they have room service. The room was also pretty cold come morning, due to heating being turned off around 5 am. Also Wi Fi doesn't work in your room
Two things save the day, the staff and breakfast. The staff are incredibly nice, attentive and helpful, from reception, to the waiters. Breakfast was big, plentiful and served in a beautifully restored dining room. Its a shame as this was clearly once a classy lady, she is just in need of a little face lift.
