Historic inn but dated rooms
An incredibly convenient place to stay and the restaurant and bar areas are lovely: very ancient. The bar staff are hard working and very friendly. There is no offer of helping you take your luggage to your room and this was the killer: many odd shaped steps and turns. I had to leave bits of luggage in different places whilst I negotiated the stairs and corridors. The single room was a cream and brown corridor basically with the en Shiite bathroom being better than the room.

Very convenient for Exeter Town centre
The hotel is extremely convenient for visiting the town centre and only a short drive for the University. A pleasant, clean, warm room and nice bathroom.

An Excellent Hotel in Central Exeter
This met all our needs. Secure Parking included in the price. Comfortable quiet room. Food. Pleasant helpful staff who worked together well as a team.
My only comment, rather than a criticism is that the parking arrangements outside the hotel are a little confusing. The hotel details makes it clear that the hotel undertakes to pay the parking fees for guests staying @ the hotel. However, the notice outside provided by the local authority (I assume this is correct) or the private parking company is a little threatening. Guests like us who have never been to this hotel previously may think they have to pay and that any payment will be refunded by the hotel.
It would be helpful to have a notice outside clarifying the situation before one is tempted to place any money into the parking meter.

Satisfied guest
Hotel is handy for town centre. Reception staff were all helpful and polite. Room was very clean and maintained to a good standard. Breakfast good and very filling, full marks to the two hardworking staff on Sunday. For a budget hotel more than satisfied, especially as there is a pub downstairs! Only negative point is the heating in the rooms seems to be on high all the time, fine for the depths of winter but not on mild days.

Great stay
Only there one night but really enjoyed my stay. Friendly staff, great bar and excellent breakfast . Room was in the old part of the hotel and had its quirks - all the pipes groan when ever anyone runs the water it seems but a minor point. Will stop there again.

Nice friendly relaxed hotel
I've stayed at the White Hart Hotel, Exeter, before. The staff are very friendly, the quality of the breakfast is excellent and the venue is a great place to stay if you are on business with a quirky court yard and bar area.
Overall a very comfortable stay - don't expect 5 star facilities, but you will have good service, comfort, cleanliness and a very pleasant stay.

A business stopover
A really friendly hotel, very helpful throughout. This is not one of your sanitised modern hotels, this is the place to stay for more of an experience. Yes the main building is old but this is real character not manufactured! Would recommend this place to anyone who was not overly fussy. It's not a place for those guests who are not happy unless they are moaning

Great central location. I think it's the only hotel in the centre of Exeter which offers free parking for guests. Breakfast included in the price and a discount on other meals taken in the hotel if you are a staying as a guest. Helpful, friendly reception staff.
