Pleasantly surprised with value for money room. Had everything & more you wouldn't get in some 5 star plus hotels, the staff were very friendly , & the shower was out of this world, so much power. We will definitely be staying here again when we next visit Croydon .

In two minds.
I booked this at the last minute and it seemed good value when compared with other last minute deals locally for the date. The young man at the reception desk could not have been more helpful and having booked in escorted me to my room. On route he took me into the guest kitchen, explained the free 24/7 breakfast arrangement (You could stay and eat there without having to bring your own food with you) and showed me the guest lounge and TV area. I had booked a single room with en suite bathroom. I knew the room was not going to be big but once in it I found it sad and depressing. The bed linen and bath towels were very clean and I liked the fact I had access to an ironing board and steam iron in my room itself. However the room needed to be decorated and the carpet replaced as it was dirty and stained. Three out of the four wall lights did not work and there was no plug in the bathroom sink. The shower itself was fine and the water pressure superb. But when in the shower cubicle itself that was raised off the floor (You stepped up in to it) you could clearly see that the ceiling above the toilet was dropping. I had taken earplugs with me having read some of the previous reviews of noise experience both from the on site restaurant and the adjacent railway line and as a result I had a reasonable nights sleep. I like some of what the hotel had too offer and as a last minute booking even without making use of the breakfast facilities (My choice) just about had value for my money, but you can stay for less than a 5 minute walk away from East Croydon Station at the recently refurbished Travelodge and pay in the region of £38 per night for a large family room. I think they are operating in such a competitive market within the local area that if I was booking in advance as I would normal do I would not even consider this hotel as a viable option. .

"Hotel"
I have spent half the money on hostels before that were better quality than this hotel.
The carpets were stained, the wallpaper came off, the beds were uncomfortable, the shower was falling apart, there was a bad smell in every room.
Unfortunately I cannot name a single good thing about the hotel.

Cheap and Cheerful
Friendly staff, good wifi, excellent kitchen facilities, great shower, attached Indian restaurant smelt incredible although I didn't eat in there. Room could do with a bit of a touch up, but that's just picking at something to give constructive criticism. Would stay again!

Value for money, 25 min by train to Victoria
Good value for money. The car park is a bit limited in space due to the customers going to the restaurant. The Breakfast is a self service. I did not use it as it's quite poor but it's quite convivial.

Late booking
This was a very late booking. The price was excellent for London area. The room was very clean and the kitchen was shown to us. This was the only surprise, having to get your own breakfast, but you could have anything you liked for breakfast.

You get what you pay for and perhaps a little more
Free internet, large kitchen including two washers and two dryers and fridges stocked with all the ingredients to make your own breakfast. The room was a little small but had everything you need, the bathroom was functional bit probably in need of slight refurbishment in the near future. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cook your own breakfast
Room was fine but we didn't realise we had to share a kitchen and cook our own breakfast as this is not made clear on the website. We didn't have breakfast as didn't feel like waiting for other quests to their breakfasts so disappointed with breakfast arrangements.

Clean, functional, easy - would stay again
We didn't realise at first that we had to cook our own breakfast! Fortunately we were up early and so had the kitchen to ourselves but might have been a bit more difficult at about 10am when other guests were using the kitchen. Having said this, the fridge was fully stocked with breakfast food (bacon, eggs, sausages, bread, jams, cereals etc. ) and juice so was fine for us!
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Good location as a 10 minute walk into Croydon town centre.
