About the hotel
The Limpley Stoke Hotel is a traditional Georgian Country House founded in the reign of King James I. Set in 3 acres of private gardens on the outskirts of Bath. Easily accessible from the M4 motorway, the Hotel has a large car park and occupies a delightful village setting in an area of outstanding natural beauty overlooking the magnificent Avon Valley, with the 16th century Hop Pole Inn at bottom of the drive.
With its spacious public rooms, quality accommodation and friendly and attentive service, the Hotel is a haven for the discerning traveller. Many of the rooms have recently been completely refurbished, with new Executive Suites available. All rooms are private, with tea/coffee making facilities, radio and colour TV and complimentary Wi-Fi access through out.
The majority of rooms enjoy stunning views of the valley. All bedrooms have been individually designed and well equipped with fabrics and furnishing that complements the surroundings, offering both charm and character.
The Viaduct restaurant offers an extensive menu which can caterer for all dietary requirements. Using selected, locally sourced ingredients where ever possible, our team of award winning Chefs produce mouth-watering dishes every time.
The guestrooms are located on three floors and a lift/elevator offers access to the first two floors with stair access to all three. Due to the original architecture of our Georgian period property all floors have varying levels and do require some access via steps/stairs. Assistance is always readily available.
The hotel is a very popular venue for weddings and events over the weekends and occasional weekdays and has music until late that may affect some of our guest rooms.

Best Western Limpley Stoke Hotel, Bath
Room was not as advertised.
Dated and in need of some tlc. Wallpaper coming off the wall. Room smelt unpleasant and needed to be aired. However the room was clean. When we arrived there was a near empty loo roll which needed to be changed.
BW Limpley Stoke
We had chosen this hotel as we were attending Bath v Wasps rugby match.
As our room were not ready when we checked in we left our luggage in the car and went off into Bath for the game. We arrived back at the hotel at around 8pm and decided to have a drink in the bar. At this point we had all of our luggage with us. Our wives then had a small piece of chocolate which we had brought and were immediately told by the bar man they were not allowed to eat the chocolate in the bar. We finished our drinks and went up to our rooms 31 & 33 next to each on the second floor. On entry the rooms were tired but appeared clean. The twin beds however were awful, lumpy, creaking and generally unstable. When the rooms were booked they were the only ones available so we thought there would be no availability of other rooms. As we had had a long day we were tired and decided to turn in for the evening. It was a very restless night and we all got very little sleep. We are not in the habit of complaining but thought we needed to mention the beds to the reception. On check out we told the receptionist who fetched the duty manager Diana. We explained we'd had an awful nights sleep and was there some kind of compensation bearing in mind our rooms ŵere just short of £100 per night without breakfast. She said there had been no other complaints about the beds so there was nothing she could do, we said we're complaining about the beds and she said as she'd had no complaints prior to ours she would have to do a full investigation. We asked if there could be a gesture of good will maybe a refund of the bar bill £16 or complimentary breakfast £10 per person. She said no as they were different departments. She went into the back office then came back and said she would refund our breakfasts but not our friends who had an equally poor night. Eventually as time was getting on and there were people waiting to check out we agreed. All in all not a great way to finish a lovely trip to a great city. Would we stay here again, no. Will we recommend this hotel, no. Shame as it is an impressive building in a lovely location.
