So whether eating a-la-carte or at the bar,we believe that our unique blend of modern and traditional cuisine will appeal to the most discerning appetite. At the heart of The Star is our traditional and relaxed pub bar with a great range of real ales, quality lagers and a carefully selected wine list. Wantage in Oxfordshire is a lovely small market town in the Vale of White Horse, and has a good range of shops and services, including plenty of places to eat and drink. Links with the past are very strong too and Wantage is a great place to visit to enjoy this historic part of England. The town's buildings are mostly 17th and 18th century with narrow cobbled streets and passages.

Quality above standards of any hotel I have used in many years

It is clear significant investment has been made in this pub and hotel rooms.

Quality to detail in rooms is exceptional and all the bedding is very good quality. New fittings and a great bathroom in the room. Rooms are not big but adequate. Then the food whilst a little expensive it's worth paying for quality of food and local produce. Young staff but brilliant, I had to leave early before breakfast time so they prepared a continental breakfast for me and delivered it before I went to bed. Thank you and we'll done best stay in over 40 made this year

Cosy comfortable & peaceful

Attentive helpful staff on arrival.

Cosy double room & lovely En suite accommodation 2 mins across from main building. Suited me as on my own. May have been a bit small for two but then you're only sleeping/ showering. Lovely Quaint Inn, didn't sample food but looked really good. Peaceful Undisturbed sleep. Could hear low drone of conversation in next room early evening , but all guests appeared to be respectful of others. Would stay here again most definitely.
