100% would recommend it to a friend
Second to none!
We had an unequalled stay at this lovely place situated amid a mix of pretty cottages and a babbling valley river.
Met by the hosts Deb and Gary on arrival and made to feel extremely welcome with a slight aire of friendly famaliarity for extra warmth. And my own liking for crispy bacon was caringly catered for every morning without fail and the meaty sausages ;-)) are some of the best I've tasted!.
Really great detailed advice given on the local amenities especially on the food and drink. The great pointer to the Blue Ball pub for food and atmosphere was appreciated for one instance.
The room was spotlessly clean and tidy and everything fitted in the room just right. We had the four poster bedroom with the larger en-suite shower wc room. Sitting on the stone window seat looking up the valley of various trees was a great place to catch up with any necessaries via the more than adequate wifi service. As said, any breakfast variations catered for every morning and there's even some friendly banter available if your game for a laugh. All in all, a faultless and memorable experience. Thanks again to Deb and Gary.
Gorgeous, Tranquil Cottage
Jay Cottage is a sweet little B & B on the outskirts of Lynton, overlooking a road and a wooded bank with a river at the base.
The setting is very peaceful and ideal for birdwatching or just sitting on the window seat and listening to the river and the birds. The (standard double) room itself was tasteful, light and airy and contained everything needed for a comfy stay. Tea/coffee, biscuits and bottled water all set out beautifully. The room and (tiny) En-Suite were spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was a tight squeeze to get past the bottom of the bed and in the En-Suite, but not enough to cause any problems. The few steps up to the house and the internal staircase are quite steep with no handrails. The hosts were lovely as was the breakfast (I particularly liked the homemade jam). I would stay here again and highly recommend this B & B. Because it is a very old cottage, it is not suitable for those with mobility issues. TV very, very small.
