Relaxing night away
I was staying at Hay Meadow Farm because the following morning I had a course I was attending.
Upon arrival my breath was taken as the sight of this beautiful thatched house came into my view. It was like a movie set, perfect. Duncan answered the door to me, very warm welcome as he carried my bag in and up to my room. It really is such a beautiful place inside and out. My room was beautiful and beautifully furnished, all was very tasteful, clean and tidy. I had an en suite shower room, beautifully clean and fresh with lovely thick white towels. I had a TV with a DVD player in my room and plenty of really good movies to choose from. Also a digital radio that I turned to the classical channel, which for me with none of my children in tow and a double bed to myself was simply heavenly bliss. Duncan cooked the most enormous onion, pea, broccoli and cheese omelette and sliced tomatoes side for my supper. I ate in the sitting/dining room with beautiful inglenook fire place and pleasant music, again tastefully furnished. Duncan couldn't have been more lovely and helpful, a great host. I then spent a relaxing evening in my room listening to classical music, sitting on my double bed reading in my PJ's with a lovely thick feather duvet and crisp fresh pillows. I had a huge bottle of water in my room and tea and coffee making facilities. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were provided for me. The shower was a large double shower with a great fast flowing shower head. A great night sleep, very quiet, shame I had to get up really. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and really tasty bacon, fruit of several kinds all beautifully ripe with a cup of tea. I can not think of a single think to main about. It really was a lovely relaxing stay with everything just as I liked it. I would thoroughly recommend Hay Meadow Farm to anybody. A stunning setting in the most beautiful thatched cottage in the heart of Devon with great food and hospitality, what more could you ask for. Duncan is a lovely chap. Go there and find out for yourself.
