About the hotel
The Bell House is one of the most attractive small hotels in the West Country. The original house is over 500 years old and stands in delightful English gardens. The Bell House makes an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds.
The Bell House offers a non-smoking restaurant, as well as large gardens for al fresco dining. Wi-Fi is available in both the bar and restaurant areas. When England was under the influence of Oliver Cromwell all church services were banned and all church bells confiscated. The villagers of Sutton Benger hid the bell from the beautiful Saxon Church in the private house directly opposite. Hence, this is how the Bell House gained its name. The cities of Bath, Swindon and Bristol are all within a 20 minute drive and we are ideally situated for both the Castle Combe Race Track and Badminton Horse Trails. The surrounding area has a wealth of ancient sites, numerous white horses and the standing stones of Avebury. The famous beautiful villages of Castle Combe (Dr Dolittle) and Lacock (Harry Potter) are both within a ten minute drive.

Outbuilding a little utilitarian but clean.
Last serving of breakfast at 8:30 early for a leisure traveller but good quality.
Clean but outdated and not worth the money
Apparently this place is considered fancy for the area but can't quite see how or why.
The hotel is like stepping back into the mid-80s in terms of decor and clearly has not been modernised in a long time bar some superficial touches. It is however relatively clean, quiet and pleasant enough.
Didn't have the breakfast as who the hell wants a Sunday breakfast that only serves between 8am-9am. Shower was typically lukewarm at best. At the prices currently offered which are somewhere close to double what it's actually worth.
