About the hotel
Bosvean House is furnished the house with French and English vintage furniture. The comfortable guest lounge has soft, relaxing settees and a log-burner for those chilly winter nights. The rooms all have tea/coffee making facilities with welcome treats and bathroom extras.
You morning wake-up call will be the sounds of the local birds and lambs calling. The views are stunning with three of the bedrooms looking out over open countryside, the fourth overlooking the bridleway. Bude and Widemouth Bay are both within a few miles and offer fantastic beaches, plus access to the coastal footpath. Both are popular with families and surfers and provide excellent facilities (including tuition, hiring of equipment and wetsuits). Other beaches within easy reach are Crackington Haven, Trebarwith, Polzeath, Newquay and Daymer Bay. About 20 miles to the south lies Rough Tor, one of the highest points on Bodmin Moor. Steeped in legend and full of archaeological heritage, the moor delivers rugged beauty and breath-taking walks. Daphne Du Maurier's Jamaica Inn lies less than 25 miles. Exmoor lies 30 minutes to the north. Dartmoor lies less than 30 minutes away to the south east. During Winter we offer weekend breaks for four people with five-course candle-lit dinners and nights by the log fire! A short walk along the bridleway takes you into Stratton with its famous "Tree Inn" restaurant and bar. If you prefer traditional Cornish and Devon ales, try The Kings Arms in Stratton. Stratton is less than 2 miles distance by road. The fantastic Bude beaches can be reached within 5 minutes - only 2 miles away. We know you will enjoy your stay with us at Bosvean House

An excellent time.
Outstanding accommodation and food. Good local hostelries for evening meals. Footpath from the accommodation to town takes about 15 minutes.
What a B& B should be
Bill and Ann could hold master classes on how a B&B should be run.
The house is immaculate, there was lashings of hot water in the ensuite shower room and a hospitality tray offering tea, coffee and bottles of water was refilled everyday. Breakfast is a delight with a range of cereals, fruit and juices to choose from. Cooked breakfasts include smoked salmon and creamy scrambled (freshly laid) eggs that was simply perfect as well as all the traditional cooked breakfast choices. Lots of toast, some delicious marmalade, a big pot of tea - all arrived with the minimum of fuss - in fact all you could want served up on pretty china in a charming dining room. We booked in for one night but ended up staying for 2, we liked it so much. As we are house-hunting in the area we are looking forward to returning. We didn't use the guest lounge but it looked comfortable and we did use the free wifi - which was great - thanks for that. Any negatives. Well, the access drive comes as a bit of a shock, it's a bridleway which you feel sure you shouldn't go up but will be glad that you did. Oh yes, and the bath towels are a shade on the small size for those of us of more ample proportions, but that really is all I can think of and seems a little petty when compared with everything that's good about the place.
