About the hotel

Pine Lodge is a Four-Star Silver Victorian Gentleman's residence, set on the valley side of the West Lyn river, with fantastic views over the wooded hillside of the Watersmeet Estate. Here you will be able to relax, unwind and sleep peacefully, as the only sounds are those of the river tumbling over the rocks below and the birds in the morning. To add to the tranquillity there is little mobile phone coverage in the house, but we do have free Wi-Fi connection.

Our hillside garden is also available for guests to enjoy the peace and quiet. To start the day we serve a full English breakfast in our bright sunny dining room. We also offer lighter alternatives, freshly prepared fruit and cereals, fruit juice, and tea & coffee. Vegetarian and Gluten free dietary requirements can be catered for. Each of our rooms is individually decorated and is well equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each room is en-suite, 3 rooms have en-suite bathrooms with a shower over and 2 en-suites have showers. Each en-suite has complementary toiletries and soft fluffy towels. There is a hair dryer in each room and an iron & ironing board are available on request. The hospitality tray has a selection of teas & coffee, and fresh milk is always available. Each room has a FreeView TV. Once at Pine Lodge the car can be left in our car park, as the walk into Lynton, along the Lynway takes 10-15 minutes at a gentle stroll, with fantastic view over Lynmouth Bay as you approach Lynton. From there you can walk along the SW coast path to the Valley of Rocks and then on to Lee Bay. From Lynton you can catch the famous water powered cliff railway to Lynmouth where you can enjoy the harbour and sea front or follow the river to Watersmeet (and enjoy a cream tea at the National Trust tea rooms. There are walks for all abilities. Lynton & Lynmouth have a wide selection of cafes and restaurants from traditional menus to pizza & pasta to authentic Spanish tapas.

This elevated b&b sits nicely amongst the trees.

With a warm welcome from the owners and tea/ coffee & cake was nice after a long drive.

We were shown our rooms after a chat and could not fault them. Clean , airy , bright. With the small touches of hand made biscuits to chocolates at the bed side. Our room was at the front with only the trees to stare back at us.The breakfast was great they had gluten free bread and we had asked for rice milk, the guys had a full English breakfast and we went for something lighter. The owners helped us with maps and sat nav details to help us explore our surrounding. I would highly recommend this b&b for thous who don't mind a short walk down to the village. It does have a steep climb going up so not recommend for thoughs not so good on the feet. But you can always take the car down. I would give this place 5* and would recommend to friends and family and would stay again when I next visit the area.

Beautiful place to stay

The house looks out over a wooded valley, with the sound of the rushing river.

The breakfast room looked out over the garden and was bathed in sunshine and was full of birds on the bird feeder. The couple who run Pine Lodge were friendly and helpful.
