Two night weekend stay - sole traveller
Get place for a couple of nights break visiting friends.
Booked the small double which was fine for single occupancy. The building is lovely and the room had a view over the terraces and garden. Bathroom was compact and functional, and the shower was powerful and hot !. It may be a simple thing, but the room had a proper 'normal' kettle (better than the normally tiddly hotel kettles) with plenty of sachets of coffee and little pots of UHT Milk - very nice if you need a cuppa. Annette is a lovely host - very friendly and gave good recommendations for places to eat.
Lovely accomodation but be prepared to make your own breakfast
The cottage is located down a rural lane just off the A38, close enough to be handy, but we never heard any traffic or aeroplane noise, so ideal location.
There is ample parking and the accommodation is very clean and the host was attentive. The room had the old world country cottage charm with old wooden doors and stone floor, but modern amenities like a nice 'walk-in 'shower, t.v. and hot drinks facilities. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the 'self service' breakfast, cereals and toast with a hot drink, and you had to queue to use the toaster and kettle. It reminded me of living in digs, might suit some but I think I would rather pay more for being served at breakfast with something more substantial.
