Great location and a splendid breakfast
Nice old pub that has had a facelift, which has been concentrated in the swish Bar and restaurant, the room was clean but no amount of pretty toiletries and fluffy towels can really mask the dated fabric of the building which would be less important if the price wasn't in the hotel zone.
However I am a little picky about that sort of thing, we had a great welcome, lovely light lunch, early access to the room, good nights sleep and an epic breakfast. Tea and coffee in the room gets good marks too. I would stay here again because of the welcome and the breakfast alone!
