Superb Inn to explore Hardy Country
We really enjoyed our stay at the Acorn and would readily return and/or recommend to friends.
The rooms, facilities and the restaurant were of a very high standard and the staff were extremely courteous and helpful and a credit to the Acorn. The menu is a little limited but there were specials every day (usually fresh caught fish) and the food was cooked and presented perfectly. There was also a wide choice for breakfast which pleased my wife as she is averse to the 'Full English', although that was taken by myself. The Guest's Lounge was a perfect place to relax after our evening meal and we met and chatted to other visitors over a glass or two of cognac. We stayed in 'Tess' for two nights which was wonderful. A large very comfortable four poster bed with the room 'perched' over the entrance to the inn - very romantic... What a super base for exploring Hardy Country.
