Sneaton Castle Centre is situated in beautiful and extensive grounds adjacent to St Hilda's Priory. The Centre is within walking distance(1 mile) of the heart of the historic and picturesque seaside town of Whitby, affording easy access to some of the most glorious countryside in the United Kingdom, notably the North York Moors and coastline.

The castle itself dates back to the 19th Century and following major refurbishment, the buildings have been transformed into an ideal modern venue for Conferences, Training Events, Seminars, School, College and Youth Trips, Church Weekends, Holidays, Individual Breaks, Group Outings... and much more!

All our 4 star accomodation is in our St Francis House building and not in the main Castle buildings.

Room noise
The room was most satisfactory in all ways except one.
My friend was kept awake all night because of an annoying humming sound.

short break
We arrived early but accomodation was ready and we were allowed into our room.It was very cold weather on our 3day break and unfortunately the heating was not on long enough to heat the room sufficently.
The choice of breakfast is the most comprehensive i have seen at any hotel and was a great start to the day.
There was no bar facilities available on our stay and it being a good 25mins walk to a decent pub this was a bit disappointing.

spacious family room. gorgeous location and great food
We were very happy with the family room at sneaton castle centre. The site isn't a typical hotel but the rooms are very clean, well equipped and the location is beautiful.

Sneaton Castle
A lovely quiet location. All the staff are very helpful at all times. Close enough to centre of town to walk, or a £5 taxi ride if weather is bad. The only moan is that the shower sprayed water everywhere! couldn't stop it getting past the shower curtain onto the floor.

Well worth the cost
We often visit Whitby and found St Francis House at Sneaton Castle ranked right up with far more expensive hotels. Clean, warm, private, everything working and nothing was too much trouble.

Stay at Sneaton
Morna and I were struck by the warmth and friendliness of the staff on both Saturday on our arrival and when we departed on Sunday. Sneaton Castle is indeed a beautiful place and has many assets, but to have such lovely staff is paramount in a place like this. The Caretaker was extremely helpful and accommodating to our needs and a great member of the what we would presume to be a small team. Fabulous nights sleep in a very comfortable room. Loved it.

Sneaton Castle Centre
This is not really an hotel, it is more of a very high quality hostel for want of a better description.
It wasn't really what we were expecting from the late rooms description.

Relax from work
The accomodation is very differnet from any other we have ever stayed in. Beautiful views and peaceful surroundings
