Birthday midweek
Mark was excellent - very helpful. Just one issue really - the heating boiler switched on and off all night: there were no operating instructions to turn it off so sleep was affected. Great view and handily located for the old town. Slightly hilly and cobbly access on foot to the new town but only £5 by taxi anyway.

Awesome accommodation, customer service needs improvement
We stayed at the VIP apartments on a city break with our 1 year old. The accommodation was spotless and ideally located with all the amenities you could need literally on your door step. We would thoroughly recommend this accommodation for anyone travelling with small children if you have a thick skin when it comes to customer service. We booked for 2 adults and a child under 2 on an advanced pay now rate and provided credit card details at booking for payment. We received an email confirming booking and noting card details. It advised check in times and that we call 30 minutes before arrival to arrange a meet and greet. On the day of arrival we called to see if we could use the car park prior to check in and were told that we had not paid and they were therefore not expecting us because they had not taken payment from the card provided at booking but rather sent a follow up email with a link to payment. We were also told no travel cot was available because they had no advance notice it was required. The telephonist was exceedingly argumentative and seemed to have little interest in resolving matters but rather on assigning blame as to why our payment had not been received. In the end we made payment and a travel cot without any sheets was provided but this took 2 rather unpleasant calls and left a very sour taste on what should have been a lovely family break. Suggest option to select travel cot be available at booking and contact be made with guests in advance of day of arrival if payment has not been received.

ManagementResponse

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. I feel it is important to respond to some of the claims you have made as they are not quite accurate. Firstly, it does state on Laterooms.com [6] that guests booking at advance rates will have to complete an invoice we send our with their credit/debit card, once completed a confirmation will be sent from us. As your payment was not made within the 24 hour time period the booking could have been cancelled, we sent 3 reminders over the course of 3 days and received no response so made you aware of this when you rang as we wouldn't be able to check you in without this being complete and as we have no reception as we are not a hotel this is quite important and can delay the check-in process which is not something we wish for our guests. Any hotel or apartment company must be informed if you are bringing a child that you require a travel cot to be provided for, we particularly need this as we have to transport them to the apartment for your arrival and had been given no prior notice, I explained this to you and advised I would do my best to get you one, this was only requested once and I did not argue the point I said I would let you know. You then called us again 30 minutes later (before arrival) to ask if we had found a travel cot and I had told you I had sourced one for you but that we do not supply bedding for this which you seemed very bemused at stating that anywhere else you had ever been always supply bedding for their travel cots. Out of interest I called 3 local hotels to ask if they did this for their guests, having worked in hotels for 10 years I had never come across this, and all 3 hotels informed me of the same. I had however gone to several apartments to see if we had anything spare that we could use, however as all of our linen is counted daily in the morning there was nothing spare to use and at 6pm in the Evening housekeeping had gone home for the day, had you informed us in advance we could have supplied something for you. I therefore think your comment that customer service was lacking is particularly unfair as I, the Manager rather than a telephonist, did try my best to facilitate your request at such short notice. I would advise in future to request additional bedding and travel cots before arrival so that the accommodation provider can make sure you have everything you need at check-in

ideally located, modern, clean accommodation with easy parking
I booked this mini city break for my husband's birthday & am so glad I did.
Parking was unbelievably easy & we were met by a very pleasant lady who showed us around the apartment & directed us to the city centre.
The apartment was lovely. Clean, bright, everything you needed & great views from the enormous windows. Shops were very local for bits & pieces.
The Royal mile was 5 minutes walk away & shops & restaurants the same.
Edinburgh castle at the top of the Royal mile is worth a visit & so too is Edinburgh Zoo.
In short this was a perfect little city break only made better by coming back at the end of a fun packed busy day to a perfect apartment.
I will definitely be using again :)

Not VIP experience !
Construction work very close to apartment !

ManagementResponse

Dear Guest, I apologise if the lack of a view spoilt your short stay with us. Parts of the Quartermile development are still under construction, we did however offer you a much later checkout time despite only being informed of the request on arrival and being very busy the following day. I believe there were no complaints with the apartment itself other than the above, we do have several other Quartermile apartments that do not face any of the construction so if you book again perhaps you can double check in advance and we will ensure you get an apartment with a view. Kind regards, Marc Hughes, General Manager

Weekend trip to Edinburgh
Excellent location just outside the city centre about 10 minute walk away, perfect for visiting the different attractions ie, edinburgh castle, royal mile to holyrood palace and Arthur's seat which we visited.
Princes street is close by for a good choice of high street stores if your going shopping.
Although this was all good the view from our apartment wasn't the best as it was overlooking a building site which we wasn't aware of before the visit to edinburgh.
My girlfriend wasn't impressed with the hairdryer as it was an American pin plug and we had to buy an adapter. The drama!!
Overall nice apartment and ideal for our short stay.
