Reviews - The Berkeley Hotel

4Self Classified Guest House Ratings explained
3 Lascelles Terrace, , , Eastbourne, BN21 4BJ
Situated in the heart of Eastbourne, The Berkeley is a well-established Victorian Guesthouse; with just a few minutes stroll to the promenade, beach, theatres and conference centre, not forgetting the band stand, which holds performances nearly every night from May to September. With a wide selection of different restaurants and cafes, all within walking distance, you will be spoilt for choice. Eastbourne Railway station is a 10 minute walk as is the town centre. The Berkeley Guesthouse offers a warm and friendly welcome to all guests. The rooms are well appointed and sympathetic to the building vintage and its surroundings. This is a conservation area with the typical multi storey town houses which are what you would expect of Eastbourne. All our rooms are en-suite with complimentary toiletries for your arrival, luxurious towels, Free Sat TV, alarm clocks, complimentary beverage making facilities and hair dryers. An iron and ironing board can be requested from Reception and delivered to your room. The guest house is modern, well furnished and we make an effort to extend a warm welcome to our guests. Our check in times are from 14:00 to 19:00, and the check out time is 11:00.

Lovely guest house
I stayed here for the last night of the Eastbourne airshow and it was perfect. It was a great location - about a minute's walk from the seafront and right by where the music was (I had come for the music). It's also convenient for the tennis at Devonshire Park. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. The single room was small but comfortable. Nice sheets and towels. There was wifi (hurrah) and green tea bags and the customer service and welcome was warm and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised. It exceeded my expectations (and I can be quite hard to please).

Night at the Berkeley :)
I was welcomed into the Berkeley, shown my room and even given a map to find a meeting place that had been arranged. I have never been to Eastbourne before and I thoroughly recommend this place. It was so quiet and the breakfast was beautifully cooked. Thank you very much :) :)

Sentimental journey
I cannot speak too highly of the Berkeley----their kindness to me as an older visitor was so appreciated, but they were equally kind to my small family. The rooms, facilities and food were all wonderful and made this birthday weekend trip so memorable. We are all planning a return, me to recall childhood holidays and my two grand children and my daughter to just have a lovely stay in our dear Berkeley
