Staff exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Listed building elegantly converted, within permitted limits (e.g. no lift--we were on the 3rd floor and I was glad it wasn't the 4th). Our room faced the back and was quiet enough overnight even with the window a bit open for fresh air. Very comfortable queen-size bed. I was worried at first that the combined "wet room" and loo would be impractical, but it dried quickly and was so clean that I had no hygiene concerns. Minor criticisms: the tiny speakers in the flat screen TV were inadequate, but the radio was much better. Coffee at breakfast was weak. Background music in the pleasant bar was a bit too loud. We only ate breakfast, which was good (including fresh orange juice) but not as imaginative as Paskins around the corner, where we usually stay. I gather the restaurant is highly regarded. Very good value at Late Rooms price.

Great stay at Drakes hotel
Perfect little hotel, right on the seafront, with lovely rooms. Ours had a stand-alone bath in it and the extras, including White Company toiletries and Brighton rock were all nice touches. The customer service was excellent - really helpful and polite. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a great location
We booked this hotel at last minute in order to extend out short honey moon break.
Hotel staff were fantastic and gave us a free upgrade to an amazing room.
Knowing we were only there for one night they gave us a map and pin pointed all the best places to go.
Our anniversaries will be spend there going forward.
Overall AWESOME!!

We a wonderful nights stay at drakes, the room had everything we needed the views were beautiful and the bath was massive. Everything is right on hand as drakes is over looking the beach and pier. We will be going back again and hopefully stay longer. Be prepare to walk up lots of stairs that's the only down fall.

Staff training
Stay ruined by very noisy kitchen extract 4inch away from bedroom window. Mentioned to staff prior to dinner and response was 'we have another room available which is of better standard and more expensive, if still noisy after dinner we will move you' post dinner noise continued, I packed my bag and went to see same member of staff who took a complete U turn and wasn't prepared to move me to a room '3 times the price of the one I had booked' WHY... Say she would 2 hours earlier!! She said the extract would go off within 20 minutes and offered me a drink whilst I waited.. I wanted to go to bed! Training needed
