Could do better
The room/bathroom was clean but very dated and tired. There was no central light in the room which meant it was difficult to read my textbooks (I was there on a course/exam). Other guests were leaving very early in the morning (5.30) onwards which made for a very noisy early wake up call. The staff were polite but the food they served was unimaginative and over cooked. Two other guests nearby sent their food back. I would not stay again. If it had been £50.00 a night I could accept it, but it wasnt.

We stayed three nights at the Four Pillars in Abingdon and would have no hesitation in staying there again. Our room overlooked the car park and was generally very quiet even when windows were open. The room was kept immaculately clean and furnishings, towels etc were of a good quality. The breakfast buffet was very good and the staff, particularly the more mature ladies, were extremely pleasant and professional.

Value For Money
Chose this hotel due to its location. Handy for Oxford itself abd to explore many of the other towns and villages in the area where a blot of countryside can be found. Hotel was very good, much better that some others that quote "value for money". No hesitation in recommending both the hotel and Laterooms.com.

The hotel is extremely tired and dated. It could really do with a complete overhaul

A comfortable weekend break
Pros; Welcoming staff on arrival, a comfortable well appointed room, powerful shower, excellent food in the evening, room quiet despite being on main road, breakfast as you would expect, all for less than at a Premier inn at the same time. Well placed for exploring Oxford and surrounding area.
Cons; noisey floorboards and bathroom starting to show signs of wear.
